History

Edgar Maranta Ifakara College is the result of merging of two nursing schools which are; General Nursing Diploma Upgrading Course and Edgar Maranta School of Nursing. General Nursing Upgrading Course (GNDUC) established in September 1994 for upgrading course Edgar Maranta School of Nursing was established in 2004 special for preservice In January 2013 merged into one school which is now called Edgar Maranta ifakara College

Its owned by the Catholic Diocese of Ifakara AND within we’ve the IFAKARA CRUSTER where SRRH, TTCIH,IHI, SFUCHAS, GSCH, Solidarmed Tanzania and Nazareth Leprosarium Centre are all members of the cluster As Ifakara Cluster we’ve MOU that gives us a room of working together and sharing of human and non-human resources
